What We Need:
This is a Customer Support position to install, train, and maintain the products developed and sold by Florical Systems.

What You'll Do:

  • Available for customer service 24hr/day on-call as needed.
  • The RCS Engineer position may require various degrees of travel up to 75%.
  • Assists in training Field Technical Service Engineers and Customer Support Engineers.
  • Required to make independent judgment calls related to software, hardware and design adjustments to serve the company and customer's needs.
  • Installs, configures, and tests hardware, software and peripheral system components through on-site and telephone support.
  • Determines if design documents are correct for post-sale application.
  • Directly modifies system's high level configuration files (*.ini files), configures multiple types of software packages as needed to correct design flaws. These systems are highly interactive and fluid requiring good judgment and in-depth knowledge of peripheral systems.
  • Replaces, repairs, or updates defective or outdated software and/or hardware.
  • Observes system to verify correct operations and detection of errors. Determines if operation falls within acceptable parameters for customer's application, and independently determines and implements necessary changes to the system.
  • Manages tools and facilitates text formatting and file conversion and transfer.
  • Effectively articulates technical issues, timely updates and feedback on hardware or software issues to management so they can be passed to appropriate staffing for research, resolution, and updating of documentation procedures.
  • Responds to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems both verbally and in writing (customer support).
  • Evaluates customer's training requirements and manages, coordinates, and conducts training in use of software, equipment, and manuals and assists in development of user and training documents.
  • Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail or in-person communication.
  • Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken and installation specifications.
  • Attends training to maintain high level of knowledge of Company software, integrated software and supported devices. Reads relevant technical manuals and publications to increase overall knowledge base and to stay on top of the ever-changing broadcast industry. Suggests changes to current system relevant to new or upcoming devices.
  • Reads technical manuals, confers with users, and conducts computer diagnostics to determine nature of problems and provide technical assistance to clients.
  • Provides accurate record of hours worked, travel hours, daily activities, accomplishments and outstanding requirements and other notable installation activities for on-site jobs, per Florical guidelines for accurate customer billing.
  • Coordinate all travel arrangements including airfare, car rental, hotel, etc. using multiple sources and within company guidelines and customer requirements. Provides detailed documentation of all expenses for installation visit for rebilling to customer.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and sensitivity to confidential information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) or equivalent from a College or technical school in an engineering, broadcasting, computer science or related field; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence on a business level.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, common scientific and professional journals, and technical procedures and journals.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
  • Ability to effectively present information to individuals or groups.

Reasoning Ability

Computer Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft, including server and operating systems
  • In-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN
  • In-depth knowledge of Database management
  • In-depth knowledge of Spreadsheet and Word Processing software such as MS Office Suite.
  • This position requires Florical Systems software experience with a focus on training and creating literature for operations

Compensation:

Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data.

$70,000 - $87,500
