What We Need:
We're seeking a Part-Time News Anchor/Reporter. The ideal candidate should be an excellent news writer who is passionate about news. They should be able to excel in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
This shift is Friday-Saturday-Sunday, plus occasional shifts on other days
What You'll Do:
- News writer, anchor
- Gathers, writes, edits and prepares content (text, audio, web)
- Excellent reading, writing, and pronunciation required.
- Anchors newscasts as assigned.
- General newsroom responsibilities.
What You'll Need:
- Must be knowledgeable and up-to-date on local and national news and issues
- Clear, pleasant, charismatic, and well-controlled voice
- Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar, pronunciation, and enunciation skills
- Well-rounded communication skills for conducting interviews
- Proficient in media production, audio editing, and broadcast systems
- Ability to plan and organize, set priorities and multi task in a fast-paced environment.
- Self motivated to find and write stories
- 3+ years' experience in on-air journalism in smaller market or college station
- Four-year college degree, preferably in Broadcast Journalism or Communications

- Ability to work within prescribed guidelines without needing close supervision
- Problem solving skills within established procedures
- Understanding of when to seek guidance for unforeseen problems
- Close attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to act in a professional manner and collaborate with colleagues of different levels
